Our character education program at ECLC is entitled “To BEE Our Best.” It incorporates a bee theme and a color word association with special character-related words during each six weeks period as follows:

• 1st Six Weeks – respect/yellow
(“To BEE Our Best, we need to be respectful. Respectful means to be nice and polite to ourselves and to others.”)
• 2nd Six Weeks – responsibility/orange
(“To BEE Our Best, we need to be responsible. Responsibility means to take care of our things and listen to the teacher.”)
• 3rd Six Weeks – caring/red
(“To BEE Our Best, we need to be caring. Caring means that we are kind to the others and are willing to help them.”)
• 4th Six Weeks – self-discipline/blue
(“To BEE Our Best, we need to be honest. Honesty means to tell the truth.”)
• 5th Six Weeks – honesty/purple
(“To BEE Our Best, we need to have self-discipline. Self-discipline means to tell yourself the right thing to do and then do it.”)
• 6th Six Weeks – courage/green
(“To BEE Our Best, we need to have courage. Having courage means to be brave so we can do things that are hard.”)
