Mrs. Weaver's Classroom Management Plan

RULES:
1. Be on time and prepared to work, as well as to learn.
2. Be quiet when the teacher or others are talking. In addition to this, there should be no excessive talking (having to be told repeatedly to be quiet.) This behavior is not only disrespectful, but it keeps me from teaching and you from learning.
3. Be respectful to yourself, others, and SSHS property. There will be no food, candy, gum, beverages, etc. allowed in this class. In addition to this, students will not:
• Write on desks, tables, walls, or any other equipment in the classroom.
• Sit on desks, tables, or counters.
• Disrupt learning for other students in any way.

CONSEQUENCES:

• 1st Time – Must meet with me after class to discuss your behavior; therefore, you will be the last student to leave the classroom.
• 2nd Time – One (1) Friday morning detention.
• 3rd Time – Two (2) Friday morning detentions and parent notification.
• 4th Time – Office referral.
• Severe Clause: Severe actions have severe consequences. A student acting in a manner that requires immediate attention will be removed from the classroom and referred to the office immediately.

REWARDS:
• Knowledge – The knowledge you will gain during class time will be your greatest reward. You will be learning principles that can immediately be applied in the real world and acquiring an immense amount of knowledge and skills that will only make your future brighter!!!
• Being named “Student of the Month” – Every month I will give this rewarding title to one student per class. This student will be featured in a newsletter that will be sent to their parents, SSHS Faculty and Staff, and other marketing students. This award will be based on various factors, such as grades, participation, attendance, etc.
• Bonus Points – Five (5) point bonus cards will be given to students who go above and beyond to participate in classroom discussions, and/or contribute additional insight to the topic we are studying. This card can be used to add five (5) points to any daily grade.

ADDITIONAL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES:
1) Listen during any announcement, Channel 1, pledges, and moment of silence. NO TALKING!
2) Students will clear up his/her work area when the bell sounds.
3) Work all period – on materials assigned for this class. Do not put work up more than five (5) minutes before the end of the period unless told otherwise. Each day when you enter the classroom, begin working on your focus activity (journal). The bell does not start this class, you do. At the end of the period, the bell does not dismiss this class, I do.
4) Have the necessary supplies in class each day. ALWAYS HAVE A PEN AND PAPER!
5) Do not ask to leave class unless there is an emergency. Anytime a student has permission to leave class a hall pass must be issued.
6) Students will not “groom” in class.
7) Please have no extremes from the dress code.
8) Should guest(s) visit the classroom, students will show good conduct by continuing their work with no talking.
9) Good attendance is a must!!!! All tests and quizzes must be made-up during tutorials that are scheduled in advance. You have a one week window to make-up a test or quiz. You will have the same number of days to make-up work as the number of days you were absent. It is your responsibility to check on your make-up work. All work each grading period for the first three weeks is due at Notice of Concern and the last three weeks at the end of the grading period deadline. DO NOT wait until the last minute to complete this work or there will be a grade penalty.
